The greatest athletes in the Sport of Fitness took on five days of incomparable competition in a bid to become the “Fittest on Earth” at the 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games.
CrossFit’s Media Manager, Daniel Izquierdo, was based out of Wisconsin, USA, and became a one-man on-site producer. He led the troops by producing four simultaneous multi-language broadcasts using Kiswe Studio and distributed the localized feeds to YouTube and Facebook. By the end of the event, the livestreams reached over 2 million worldwide viewers.
“It was clear for us that we needed an elegant but simple look to give the maximum importance to what others were doing on the field,” stated Izquierdo. “If I had to highlight a specific feature of Kiswe Studio Producer, it would be the ability to convert every stream into a template so you can replicate all the settings that have been working well previously.”
One of the Kiswe Studio features that the CrossFit team utilized constantly was the Talk-Back function. Access to this convenient in-studio-like solution provided the producer with clear, direct, and individualized communication to both talent and crew members throughout the entire production. The Talk-Back Function is just one of the many examples of how Studio has the ability to easily allow remote, on-site commentators and crew members to collaborate all together.
“For CrossFit, international distribution of our content is critical to the expansion of the methodology around the world,” shared Joe Novello, Director of Sports Media at CrossFit. “We utilize a lot of contractors from different parts of the world so their ability to connect to Kiswe Studio via the web from any location has made it very easy for them to learn the tool and customize it for the fanbase in their local languages.”
The international delivery of CrossFit’s most important live content including CrossFit Open and The CrossFit Games has been an ongoing effort. With the various benefits that Kiswe Studio offers around cloud-based remote commentary, CrossFit continues to progress forward in their long-term goal of international local language delivery.
“Kiswe Studio helped CrossFit bring in multi-language commentators and it was really the driver behind allowing them to not only create but then distribute their localized content,” said Yael Yonah, Senior Partnerships Executive at Kiswe.
The 2022 Nobull CrossFit Games live-streamed events with alternate commentary in French, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian, while reaching a global audience of over a million viewers. Additionally, Studio’s customizable layouts, scenes, and studio-native features provided CrossFit with the tools and flexibility to create broadcast-quality, polished livestreams.
With world-class partners like CrossFit, Kiswe’s broadcast and cloud production solutions are proving to be the leading choice for live sports and content owners.
