Customer Technical Operations Engineer

Description:

We are a mobile, interactive video start-up company seeking an experienced, customer technical operations engineer to provide second level support for our customer and production operations. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for second level technical support of all aspects of production for our customer and partner Kiswe Studio events and the generic Kiswe cloud environment. These events include specific event production, customer/partner training and production support, content creation, content distribution and validation, as well as overall troubleshooting. 

CORE SKILLS

We are looking for candidates with strong technical backgrounds in broadcast and video production, commercial IP cloud networking expertise, and mobile media productions. Additionally, you must be comfortable working with customers under tight and critical timelines, and be prepared to support the first level Operations team during evenings and weekends. Five years of quantified success in Cloud operations, media production, network deployment, or new product-introduction is required. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven working experience in the technical aspects of broadcast operations, production, or video production deployment
  • 5 years of overall relevant experience 
  • Familiarity with key media protocols, including RTMP, HLS, and SRT
  • Able to debug IP/TCP/UDP network issues using tools such as tcpdump or wireshark
  • Experience configuring media servers, particularly Wowza
  • Ability to examine log files, diagnose issues, and capture bug reports to feed back to development
  • Comfortable working with customers under tight and critical timelines
  • Skilled “outside-the-box” troubleshooter and problem solver
  • Able to regularly support customer issues during evenings and weekends
  • Travel less than 10%
