New Providence, NEW JERSEY (OCT 24, 2023) – Today, Dr. Jeong H. Kim, co-founder and chairman of Kiswe - a tech company focusing on interactive video for live events - was awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation (NMTI). NMTI is the nation’s highest honor for technological achievement bestowed by the President of the United States.
The Medal recognizes those who have made lasting contributions to America's competitiveness, standard of living, and quality of life through technological innovation, and to recognize those who have made substantial contributions to strengthening the nation's technological workforce. By highlighting the national importance of technological innovation, the award is also meant to help inspire future generations of Americans to prepare for and pursue technical careers to keep America at the forefront of global technology and economic leadership.
Dr. Kim has a passion for and thrives on addressing tough technical challenges. His background ranges from being a CEO of a high technology start-up to senior executive of a Fortune 500 corporation. In addition to his role as chairman of Kiswe, he currently serves on the boards of Samsung Electronics and the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI). Prior to founding Kiswe, he was the 11th president of Bell Labs, the communication industry’s most heralded research organization. He is a minority owner of Monumental Sports & Entertainment group.
